The discovery of these microbes prooved that there are living thing where noone thought anything could live. If we can find out how these microbes use the conditions to their benefit we can use the information to develop new technology. The technology can be based on the microbes themselves i.e. how they use certain conditions to produce energy, or the mechanisms used to proctect the microbes from the harsh conditions. The technology can also be based on the conditions in which the microbes live i.e. creating artificial conditions similar to underwater volcanos to produce a certain microbe which might benefit mankind.
